Letter W Tracing Worksheet

Free printable · Uppercase W and lowercase w · For ages 3–6

Tracing is how little hands learn the shapes of letters before writing them alone. This free worksheet gives your child a big friendly letter W to copy, rows of light letters to trace over, and an empty row to try all by themselves.

How to use this worksheet

  1. Start with the big letter. Let your child run a finger along the W first — tracing with a finger warms up the movement.
  2. Trace the light rows. A thick crayon or short pencil is easiest for small hands to control.
  3. Try the empty row. One honest attempt is worth more than three perfect traced rows.
  4. Keep it short. Five happy minutes beat twenty forced ones. You can always print another copy tomorrow.
